Lebanese poet Walid Zureka has accused Egyptian singer Tamer Husni and
his producer/business manager Nasr Mahrous of stealing the song “Ya
Bint El Aih” (Daughter of?!), which is the title and main song of
Tamer’s latest album. Walid claimed that the song is originally his and
that Tamer had illegally taken it and made it his.
Walid
added that he had presented the song to Tunisian singer Muhammad Al
Jabali who has the copyright to it and can prove his stance with legal
papers at the Composition Rights Association. It is added that the song
is in Muhammad’s latest album, which he released with the production
company Alam El Phan.
Sources revealed that Walid and Muhammad
intend on taking the matter to court, especially since Tamer overlooked
all attempts to have the song removed from his album and disrespecting
the rights of other singers.
It is noted that Tamer is going
through a stressful time since the sales of his recent album are low
and the fact that it was not considered to be up to the high
expectations of his fans.
On a different note, a daily Egyptian
newspaper recently published racy photographs of Tamer and a young
woman passionately kissing inside his car after a concert performance.
Husni,
eager to rebuild his image through the eyes of the media seems to be
failing. The singer is known for trying to remain in the spotlight by
creating false rumors about himself, but his time it may have backfired.
Critics
were quick to point out that apparently Husni did not learn from his
recent stint in jail. Husni served a six month sentence for forging
legal military documents.
Husni claimed that he has reformed,
strongly influenced by Islamic preacher Amr Khaled while he was
incarcerated, although many have dismissed this possibility after the
publication of the photographs.
Attempts were made to contact the singer to comment on the photographs, but there was no response.
Close
contacts to the singer said that the young woman in the photographs is
an obsessed fan who attacked the singer and began kissing him,
cornering Husni in his car with no escape.
